Enforcement findings December 2017 - February 2018
December:
- On six occasions, a company permitted a take-off to be conducted in an aircraft which was not maintained in accordance with a maintenance schedule. Penalty: $60,000 **The company has since had their operating certificate revoked
- A person signed a maintenance release that did not meet the applicable requirements. Penalty: $1000
- A person conducted a take-off in an aircraft which was not maintained in accordance with a maintenance schedule that conforms to the Aircraft Equipment and Maintenance Standards. Penalty: $1250
January:
- A company failed to appoint a person responsible for the maintenance control system. Penalty $5000
- A person conducted a take-off in an aircraft which was not maintained in accordance with a maintenance schedule approved by the Minister. Penalty $5000
February:
- A company failed to ensure that the person responsible for maintenance conducted an audit in respect of the quality assurance program, Penalty: $5000
- A company failed to comply with the policies and procedures contained in its Maintenance Control Manual, Penalty: $5000
- A company operated an aircraft for which a minimum equipment list had been approved, with equipment that was not serviceable or that had been removed without complying with the conditions or limitations specified in the minimum equipment list. Penalty $3750
